Walking in Torah Is a Lifestyle

Celebrating the Bible Through Teachings

Torah is a Lifestyle

Walking in Torah Is a Lifestyle

Walking as our Messiah walked, as our brother Paul walked, as Moses, Elijah, and David walked...Living a life obedient to the Father's instructions laid out in His precious WORD is LIFE-GIVING and LIFE-CHANGING.

There are many struggles that we experience as a result of the blessings and curses that are outlined in Scripture.

***If the covenant blessings (Mosaic covenant) are ours to be had as a result of being grafted into Israel (Abrahamic covenant), then the curses are ours as well, if we do not heed the Father's commands and warnings.***

Many Believers weary themselves in spiritual warfare praying against the poverty, sickness and death (curse of disobedience to the law) they see in their own lives, when in reality they are praying against the design of the Creator that was intended to evoke a response in us to TEUSHUVAH (repent/return) back to Him.

This can lead to a frustration and dissatisfaction in our walk with the Father when it seems that He is not answering our prayers OR when we are not seeing the blessings we would expect to see as His grafted-in People.

***If it is true that the Father says He DOES NOT CHANGE and that He is the SAME today, yesterday, and tomorrow...then why would He change His instructions (commands) for how He desires His Set-apart People to live?***

Hebrews 8:13
Yeshua (Jesus) Messiah is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

Malachi 3:6
"For I am Adonai, I shall not change, and you, O sons of Jacob, shall not come to an end."

It doesn't make sense.

The first 5 books of the Bible (Genesis-Deuteronomy) lay out our physical and spiritual history as the Father's Set-apart People. These books (the Torah) also lay out the expectations of our Creator (the commands) for how He desires us to LOVE and WORSHIP Him and interact with our NEIGHBOR.

Mark 12:30-31 (Messiah said this)
"And you shall love Adonai your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind, and with all your strength." This is the first command. And the second, like it, is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

Deuteronomy 6:5
"And you shall love Adonai your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might. And these Words (COMMANDS) which I am commanding you today shall be in your heart, and you shall impress them upon your children, and shall speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up..."

Deuteronomy 11:1
"And you shall love Adonai your Elohim and GUARD His charge: even His laws, and His right-rulings, and His commands, ALWAYS.

***As a result of our obedience, we receive the BLESSINGS He would have for us and we are told these blessings will CHASE US DOWN!***

Deuteronomy 28:2
"And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of Adonai your Elohim"

***As a result of our DISOBEDIENCE, we receive the CURSES and find that the things we touch often END IN FAILURE and PAIN.***

Deuteronomy 28:20
"Adonai sends on you the curse, the confusion, and the rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the evil of your doings by which you have forsaken Me."

The Father says over and over in Scripture that we are to GUARD His Torah, His COMMANDS. If He does not change, then our responsibility to GUARD HIS COMMANDS does not change either.

Malachi 3:7
"From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My laws and did not guard them. Turn back (TESHUVAH-repent) to Me, and I shall turn back to you, " said Adonai of hosts.

***Torah isn't just "A" lifestyle, it's "THE" lifestyle of the Creator's Set-apart People!***

If you find yourself having questions about following the Set-apart Commands of your Heavenly Father, take time to invite the Ruach (Holy Spirit) to guide your study as you seek to study the Torah through the lens of understanding that Adonai DOES NOT CHANGE and that what His Word says DOES NOT CHANGE.
