Psalm 119:105
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path
The Biblical imagery of the WORD as our LAMP, makes it clear that we are in darkness and in need of a source of LIGHT, as we do not provide the LIGHT ourselves.
That the LAMP is required for our FEET paints the picture that we are walking somewhere and REQUIRE GUIADANCE by LIGHT.
The imagery of PATH lets us know that the light from the lamp is not for AIMLESS WANDERING, but for a PURPOSED PATH that leads somewhere.
What a beautiful and kind Creator we have, that He would take such care to give us the gift of His Torah. That He would send His Son to further expound on the heart posture (spirit of the law) behind His Torah. And that He would not leave us wondering and questioning how to please Him, love Him, and receive His blessing as is true with all the other FALSE gods of the world.
Our Creator is a good Father who delights in the success of His children as they TESHUVAH (return/repent) daily and walk in His Ways, for HIS WAYS ARE BETTER!
Praise the Father for His Word and for His Son!
