The word *MAGIC* has become a friendly, cute adjective our society uses to conjure up cutesy or fun imagery. MAGIC has infiltrated children's clothing, bedtime stories, entire chapter book series, beauty supplies, food packaging, and certainly entertainment.
Our society has truly become saturated with MAGIC.
With the coming secular holiday of Halloween, many Believers make justification for the celebration of this holiday by only participating in activities and entertainment that they feel "toes the line" and keeps the focus on the "magical" and fun aspects of the holiday, rather than the death and fear that is obviously celebrated during Halloween.
However, Adonai's Set-apart People are not called to "toe the line".
We all called to be *PERFECT* and He has made Himself abundantly clear in Scripture that He does not align with MAGIC, SORCERY, WITCHCRAFT, or DIVINATION.
And so, neither should we.
Matthew 5:48
Therefore, be perfect, as your Father in the heavens is perfect.
It may sound or even feel harsh to a Believer who toes this line, but this is SCRIPTURE. May we let it speak for itself and rather than make decisions based on our FEELINGS, may we REVERE the HOLY WORD of the MOST HIGH and be His SET-APART PEOPLE.
Deuteronomy 18:10-14
"Let no one be found among you who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices divination, or a user of magic, or one who interprets omens or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.
For whoever does these is an abomination to Adonai, and because of these abominations Adonai your Elohim drives them out from before you. Be perfect before Adonai your Elohim, for these nations whom you are possessing do listen to those using magic and to divers. But as for you, Adonai has not appointed such for you."
