If we believe that THE FATHER IS THE SAME today, tomorrow, and that He does not change, why would HIS COMMANDS to keep and remember His Biblical Appointed Times change?
Hebrews 13:8
Yeshua Messiah is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
Malachi 3:6
"For I am Adonai, I shall not change"
The 7 Appointed Times (6 Biblical Feasts and Day of Atonement) are Biblical as they are ORDAINED and COMMANDED by our Creator. If we are indeed grafted in as His chosen, SET-APART People, we should then obey His commands as laid out in Scripture.
The Biblical Feasts, while certainly observed by the Jewish people, are not Jewish. The Feasts were given to the people of Israel of whom Christians believe we are grafted into if we are the adopted sons and daughters of the Most High.
Ephesians 1:5
Having previously ordained us to adoption as sons through Yeshua Messiah to Himself
Romans 11:17
And you, being a wild olive tree, have been grafted in among them
In fact, the Biblical Feasts are all connected and tell the story of our history, our present, and our future as followers of The Way!
In the Spring, the Father COMMANDS us to REMEMBER the Pesach (Passover), which points to Messiah's SACRIFICE.
We are to observe the Festival of Matzot (Feast of Unleavened Bread) for 7 days which points to Messiah's BURIAL and our SANCTIFICATION.
As we celebrate Bikkurim (First Fruits), we celebrate Messiah's RESURRECTION.
Fifty days later we are to observe Shavuot (Pentecost) and rejoice in the GIVING of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy SPIRIT).
In the Fall, the Father COMMANDS us to REMEMBER Yom Teruah (the day of the sounding of the shofar) which points to the TRIUMPHANT RETURN of Messiah.
Ten days later we observe the most holy day of Yom Kippur (the day of Atonement) in which we TESHUVAH (return) to our first love, our Heavenly Father, as we REPENT and seek His Face.
And finally, we are to celebrate Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) and that the Father TABERNACLED among us in the wilderness, sent His Son to tabernacle among us as Messiah, and will one day tabernacle with us again as His bride!
The Biblical Feasts were given to us as the Creator's Set-Apart People. We should OBEY Him with all our hearts and minds and stand in awe at the intentionality and beauty represented in each Appointed Time!
