If we believe that THE FATHER IS THE SAME today, tomorrow, and that He does not change, why would HIS COMMANDS to keep and remember His Biblical Appointed Times change?
Here are some ideas!
*Compile a list of music that invites your mind to think on the Father, His Son, and His Torah! Visit the Celebrating the Bible Youtube channel for a playlist!
*Decorate with fall decor. This may include creating paper chains, hanging children's artwork, setting out apples, pumpkins and leaves, or hanging a homemade banner!
*Use the senses to create memory: the smell of fresh beeswax candles in the menorah, cinnamon applesauce, fresh bread, the sounding of the shofar, the smell of a particular warming chili enjoyed by fire every Yom Teruah, or even warm apple cider in a mug while you read Scripture together as a family
*Welcome the start of the feast by watching the sunset as you SOUND THE SHOFAR and begin the celebration of His Appointed Times! If you do not have a shofar, improvise with a recorder, toilet paper tube, or even your hands! You can also find incredible shofar blasts online!
*Celebrate with delicious food!
*Read Scripture such as the story of Gideon and the Midianites, Joshua and the battle of Jericho, or even the giving of the Torah at Mt. Sinai when the blast of the shofar was heard!
*Take your shofar on a nature hike and blast it when you get to your location at the top of the hike!
*Send out Celebration Cards to friends and family!
We pray you have a blessed time honoring the call to observe Yom Teruah and celebrate the Father, His Son, and His Torah!
Happy Feasting!
