Those who grew up in modern Christianity will know the term *SPIRITUAL HIGH* as something referred to as a state you might be in when you returned home from a Christian summer camp or a discipleship weekend. Sometimes the youth group leaders might talk about how to continue on that "high" in your relationship with your Heavenly Father, not allowing the distractions of the world to take back your focus.
Rather than constantly fighting against the distractions the secular provides in our daily lives, those who observe the COMMANDED APPOINTED TIMES of the Father can expect to continually be REMINDED of HIS WAYS and HIS TIMES when they observe the Appointed Times.
Weekly, we are called to REMEMBER HIM and RETURN (TESHUVAH) to Him during His SABBATH.
We remember Him as we prepare weeks in advance for His BIBLICAL FEASTS and the GATHERING with other Believers we are COMMANDED to do during this time.
And finally, in His SUPREME WISDOM He has provided for us the Appointed Time to TESHUVAH (RETURN) during YOM KIPPUR (DAY OF ATONEMENT). We cast off every distraction, including the need to sustain life with food, and we focus on our DAILY BREAD, HIS WORD, as our ultimate and most complete sustenance.
***When we feel our bellies hunger for food, may it REMIND US that so much more does our SOUL HUNGER FOR OUR SAVIOR.***
This rhythm of observing His Appointed Times PROTECTS US from BURNOUT. It keeps us IN THE FATHER"S EMBRACE, TUCKED UNDER HIS WING.
We pray you have a blessed Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement)!
